New Commissioner

Today we begin the dawn of a new era. We move forward as the inspiration of our league has gone to a better place. Don Pedro Mendoza was a man that lived in integrity and in the fear of God. The League could not have chosen a better name for its game of fantasy football and so great a man as he was.

My administration is determined to continue his legacy through our policies and the enforcement of those truths that he stood for. The DPML (Don Pedro Mendoza League) began with the highest of standards; though the history our league carries with it scares me but perhaps reminds us of how fragile our greatness is if not handled with the greatest care. Abraham Washington said “The DPML is great because it is good, when it ceases to be good it will cease to be great.” That sentiment is one that many of us can identify with as we have lived through dark times in our history.

As the first act as The Commish I grant my predecessor James Mendoza a full pardon for crimes committed against the league owners. A great hero of our time “Spiderman” is quoted as saying “With great power comes great responsibility.” This year our administration will bring to the League a return to honesty, fairness, truth, and the Don Pedro way. We will give snacks to every owner by taking wins and redistributing it to those in need. I will start with a 12 team playoff that will last 17 weeks and take the top 6 teams to determine who is the best team. Remember if we choose the best players we can to start then we are all winners despite what the score says at the end.

There are no losers in our League, only people that can’t make the right choices. As we make this new start in our history may we keep in mind what makes this league great and may God bless the DPML.

The New Commissioner of the DPML,

Commissioner Jeremy Mendoza

Wedding Pics

Hey Everyone!… How exciting!.. This is my first post ever! :) .I am proud to announce that after almost 3  years of marriage we finally got our pics in a Cd. YAYYYYY. So you can go check them out at pictures.vidamendoza.com, there you can see our pics.

Also I want to thank everyone who has been praying for my family and myself, as some of you know my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer back in August, the doctors had giving her between 8 months to a year to live. During this very difficult time the Lord has shown His love and mercy to us, my mother was told by the doctors in a recent appointment that after only 10 sessions of both chemotherapy and radio, there are no traces of cancer left. They had told my mom that this chemo treatments were only to longer her time with us, but that it was too late for the treatments to have an impact, but God had different plans and we are happy to see the miracle that the Lord did on my mother. Thanks again for your prayers, truly God answered them.

Much love

Ale :)

The Weekend…Football…Cheating

The weekend is too short. ..The worst kind of disappointment is when you wake up thinking it is a day off and then after allowing yourself a small moment of elation realizing that today is actually Monday!  The disspointment gripped my heart but for a second before I realized that today is Monday Night Football and I have Drew Brees playing today.  Hopefully he can earn me 50 points so that I can win my fantasy football game and rub it into Jeremy’s face!  I doubt that will happen.  Anyway back to being dissapointed.  I was excited for Monday Night Football when I realized that I have not gotten any sleep over the last three days so it would be wise if I went to be early tonight…The rigors of getting old.  These decisions were much easier when I didn’t have cable.  Two weeks ago my only choice was to fall asleep.  Now my choice is between falling asleep and watching sports…My sleeplessness has been explained.

I really enjoyed the football games this week but I am really dissapointed at the Dallas Cowboys.  Call it a knee-jerk reaction but if I were Jerry Jones I would fire Wade Phillips, trade Tony Romo for a first round pick and dismantle the rest of the team!  They are garbage and don’t give me the “they started 0-2 when they won the Super Bowl in 1993″ line because these guys have no one that is even close to Aikman, Smith, and Irving.

I have small confession to make…Since no one is paying attention to the Fantasy Baseball League anymore, I would like to confess that I cheated this year in the playoffs…However, the cheating did not work and I lost anyway…

New challenges…News…Fantasy Football

What a great Sunday! Most people stayed up during my preaching so I guess things turned out well. My mother and father are in Texas and they will be heading to New Mexico shortly. I think Jafet is going to join them there but I am unsure. Either way this week promises to be interesting. For starters we have a meeting with the government this week. Believe me it is not to discuss this weeks football games. Either way I ask that for your prayers this week. I firmly believe that nothing happens without God allowing it or doing it so we firmly trust that this situation will work itself out for good.

We are looking forward to this week because ale starts her first day in her new position at work. She has three whole months on the job and she got a promotion! Some people have all the luck! It is a nice pay raise and more flexible hours. God has blessed her in her new position please continue to pray for her. In other news I got another job too!!! Well it is the same thing it’s just that now I am a salaried employee. Although this year has been tough we have also seen some of the greatest blessings of our life!

Most importantly this was the first week of the “Descendants of Pedro Fantasy Football League”. My team name is the Lakeland Supermen…we have been watching Smallville and I am inspired. Anyway my team is looking good and it looks like I am going to win my first game. I must admit that my team is not that good but hopefully we can overachieve and surprise some people. I am playing a team called La Barbie…probably a reflection on the owner…lol…

Anyway people I have an early morning tomorrow because I have to go work out. Being Superman is not easy!

Take it easy and enjoy the new week!

At the shooting range

On Saturday Ale, Isaac, Charisse, and I went to the Shoot Straight shooting range.  Going to the shooting range is my new favorite hobby although, I must admit, it is an expensive one.  We had a lot of fun!!

It was Isaac and Charisse’s first time shooting.  As you may or may not know, Ale and I got our concealed weapons license about a month ago and we both purchased weapons.  I love guns! I hate to admit this but Ale is a great shot!  She has better aim than me.  I don’t know how she does it but she is good…just check out this facebook picture.  Audy is also a pretty good shot…Here is the proof…It was his first time and he really did well.  I will have to continue to practice so that I can get better.  It’s very humbling but as you all know I am already very humble…:-P Anyway below are some videos we took at the shooting range…I am not in any of them…but I am doing you all a favor…

What I did Today

Hi everyone! For the first time in our young marriage I am not behind the wheel of the car!!! My beautiful wife has her driving permit and is now driving me around for a change! It’s an exciting time in my life.

Today I woke up early and spent the day. working. Pretty exciting right? Well know you know what I have been doing for the past 6 months.

Audy is here recovering from an injury. Hopefully he will be at 100% by the time spring training starts next season.

On my way home from work I spoke to Richelle and she told me that Jeremy is not doing well. Hopefully he can get better soon.

Anyway people our day is over and another exciting episode of Smallville awaits me.

Much love to the family!

Little Vacation

Well since we couldn’t go to Texas, Ale and I decided to take a couple of days off anyway. It was a much needed break. We decided to go to John’s best friend Hotwire.com to book a couple of nights at a hotel or resort. We were able to book two nights at the Omni Resort in Champions Gate, Florida. It was extremely fun and relaxing.

The first day at the resort we went golfing. Golfing is difficult. I am not very good but I have to tell you that I felt like a golf pro golfing with Ale. She was clueless! It is a good thing that no one else was on the course with us. The course was a 9 hole par 3 challenge. On my first shot I got on the green about 5 feet from the hole. It was a lucky shot and it was all downhill from there. We decided not to keep score since we figured it would be to difficult to add the astronomical amount of shots we would be taking. After that we jumped in the pool and relaxed in the lazy river and played a game of horse in the pool. Ale got lucky and she got me to H-O-R-S before I put on my Kevin Durant costume on and caught fire. In short, I won.

We ended the day by going to the gym and burning off the Mexican food we had for dinner. The next day was more of the same except we had dinner at Benihana. It was quite the experience. The food and the service were excellent. We decided to wait till after dinner to go to the pool since I hate getting sunburned.

On Thursday we checked out and headed to Sea World. It was fun but we were so tired that after only 3 hours we decided to go home.

The rest of the day we spent sleeping. We were extremely tired from our vacation.

Today we came to enjoy a Lakeland Flying Tiger baseball game. We love minor league baseball…it is awesome.

And God Said

I saw this photo taken by the Hubble Space telescope.  This is incredible!  It is incredible to see that God created all of this with just His words.

“And God Said”

Louise Adams

God is always good and God is always right.  Ale and I will not be headed to Texas this Monday as originally planned. Instead we along with the rest of the Adams-Mendoza Family will be mourning the loss of  Louise Adams who went to be with the Lord earlier today.  While we mourn her loss we celebrate the reality that today is her first day  in Heaven enjoying the unimaginable Glory of God.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
